I think a lot of things in Massive are covered in the Suite, not all, but far more than Absynth. Massive is a CPU pig compared to Absynth, and an easier synth for people to learn. Haven't been impressed with the pads, but the rhythmic arpeggiator type mod set up is nice and intuitive. Massive will give you a more organic sounding grinding bass. House leads, and Techno would all do well. Massive: good sounding lead synth, with some acid tinged bass madness, Dubstep gets a lot of mileage out of Massive. Also Absynth has the best FX section of any soft synth IMO, just really good sounding delays and comb filters. It was the first soft synth I thought rivaled hardware, so I'm not a good judge, been using it too long. and probably why people say it's hard to program. If you bug out a bit, like some dubstep type sounds, then Massive.īoth of these are extremely capable synths:Ībsynth: strong points are pads, rhythmic soundscapes, FM/phyical modeling sounding basses, and alien Borg sounds.Ībsynth has the best envelope section on any synth, consequentially the most easy to get lost in. If you do Trance and House, then Absynth by far.
